We study the martial art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, a traditional Japanese Martial Art consisting of 9 schools (ryu), the leadership of which was inherited by our Grandmaster (Soke Masaaki Hatsumi) from his teacher (Soke Toshitsugu Takamatsu). These schools can themselves be traced back for around 1000 years; their roots can be traced much further into the past.

Training is focussed on developing a strong, flexible body and fluent, natural technique which allows the practitioner to survive a huge range of situations and defend themself against larger stronger opponents.

Training is non-competitive and focusses on the careful study of the techniques of the Bujinkan, particularly ensuring the practical relevance of the techniques. This, we believe, is the genuine transmission of the teachings of Hatsumi Soke and his senior instructors (Shihan).
